Tallulah Nunez

Tallulah Nunez (b. 1963, Paraparaumu) is a visual artist based in the remote Gascoyne region of Western Australia, with a strong creative connection to New Zealand. Her practice is grounded in place — exploring the rich textures, colours, and forms of arid landscapes, native botanicals, and geological structures.
Working primarily in drawing and painting, she uses layered mark-making, gestural linework, and natural earth tones to reflect the raw beauty and quiet resilience of the land. Her style is intuitive yet grounded in observation, often blending abstract impressions with botanical and environmental detail.

Exhibitions & Affiliations
Tallulah has exhibited in group and solo shows across Western Australia and New Zealand, including regional galleries and curated art events. Her work has been selected for exhibitions such as Solid Ground in the Gascoyne region, celebrating artists who engage deeply with place and environment. She recently was a guest artist at the Reconciliation Exhibition - Bridging Now to Next at the Carnarvon Gallery, WA.
She is an active member of the regional arts community and continues to collaborate with local initiatives that support environmental awareness and cultural storytelling through art.

Artist Statement
Tallulah Nunez’s work is rooted in a deep sensitivity to land, memory, and natural form. Drawing inspiration from the arid beauty of Western Australia and the shifting light and landscapes of New Zealand, she creates contemplative works that explore the relationship between environment and emotion. Through drawing and painting, she invites viewers to slow down, notice, and connect with the quiet presence of place.

"Each mark is a pulse, a breath — drawn from the land, through the body, onto the surface, without conscious control." Tallulah Nunez
